HUAWEI Mate X

On the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) this year, HUAWEI revealed its most advanced smartphone model — Mate X.

There are so many astonishing features of this phone. One of them is that this phone is foldable. Foldable? You may wonder this is the feature of the phones that are over 10 years old. Mate X actually can fold its screen. When it is folded, you will have a 6.6-inch screen on the front and a 6.38-inch screen on the back. The size of either screen is big enough for daily use. If you unfold the phone, the screen will be extended to 8 inches. Two screens become a whole flawless screen which also supports multitasking. The display quality and resolution of either screen are also better than most existing phones.

Another fantastic feature of this phone is that it supports 5G data network. Even though the 5G network is not established yet, but it is definitely much faster than the 4G network we are using right now. The way for this phone to connect to the 5G network is its chipset, the combination of HUAWEI Kirin 980 and Balong 5000. This chipset is developed by HUAWEI itself, and it is one of the best in the world so far.

Its camera is co-engineered with LAICA. There are four cameras on the back, so the picture is up to 40 MP, and one of the cameras has Ultra Wide Angle Lens, which means you can have a really wide picture. The four cameras can be used to take both pictures and selfies when it is folded because the user can use two separated screens.

The two battery power supplies make the storage up to 4500 mAh, and Mate X has an incredible 55W charging speed. Just 30 minutes, this phone can be 0% to 85%.

Unfortunately, this phone does not have wireless charging and facial unlock, but it does have all the other common advanced features. The storage of this phone is 512 GB, and the RAM is 8 GB. It also has a bunch of sensors that can achieve a lot of convenient tasks. All these amazing characteristics make the users couldn’t care less.

HUAWEI Mate X opened a new era of smartphones. As all the smartphone can achieve the full-screen display, a foldable screen will be the next challenge for all the other phone companies. For more details, please visit the official page (there is also an amazing video).

OnePlus 6T

OnePlus 6T is an incredible phone which just released a few days ago. The producer of it is OnePlus, which is also a Chinese company but OnePlus is way more popular in Europe than in China. OnePlus is even younger than MI, the company I mentioned last; they are similar in many ways like they both became bigwigs thanks to their affordable price and advanced technology. Anyway, let’s go back to the main topic.

So nothing will be meaningless unless I show you the picture of this model:

So similar to iPhone X, or maybe iPhone XS, OnePlus 6T has a full screen with a “bang” on the top, which is almost the designing tendency of all the smartphones right now. But the difference is that the designers of OnePlus 6T cut the two sides of its “bang”, so there will be a little bit more space for the screen at the front. The price starts at $549, but this phone really worth $1,000,000 (actually not, but $1,000.000 for sure 🙂 ) as the technologies it has.

(All I am going to say can be concluded in the next sentence, so if you do not understand too much about the chipset, RAM, camera specifications, just consider I repeat this sentence a lot of times)

Basically, OnePlus 6T has almost all the best technology that a smartphone can have in it. Its charger is 4 times faster than Apple charger. Its brain, the chipset, is Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 845, which is Octa-core, 10nm technology, and up to 2.8 GHz, it is the fastest chipset for Android Phone, and this CPU is with Artificial Intelligence (AI). RAM is up to 8GB, the same as my laptop (MacBook Pro 2017). Storage is up to 256GB. Dual Camera with 20 Megapixels (really high), and it has both Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS), which means you can take good pictures even if your hand shakes a lot. OnePlus’s camera can also catch nightscape and offers AI Studio Light. This camera is able to shoot 4K resolution video at 60 fps. And it’s time for an image.

OnePlus is actually famous as its camera, I have a photographer friend, who takes a lot of pictures by using OnePlus 5. These technologies above are sort of old things compare to the next one. So OnePlus 6T is a full-screen smartphone, so we can definitely unlock it with our faces. However, without Home Button, some companies like Apple removed the finger-print sensor, or some others like MI moved it to the back of the phone. And the OnePlus solution is to move is on the screen, so the fingerprint unlock will be processed on the screen!

So, OnePlus 6T does have almost all the best technology that a smartphone can have in it.

MI MIX

For the very first blog, I am going to introduce the phone on my cover page, or more precisely, the “father” of my cover page phone. So the name of the phone on my cover page is MI MIX 2, which is released in September 2017. Obviously, the phone that I am going to talk about is MI MIX, which was born on November 4th, 2016.

Before talking about the MI MIX, let me briefly introduce the producer of this phone — MI. MI is a young Chinese company which is just 8 years old. The reason why MI became one of the biggest smartphone producers in China is that MI released its first phone at a much more affordable price with the similar quality and functions compared to other companies like Apple and Samsung. Right now, MI still launches its phone with the best hardware but at the lowest price. MI also has a variety of technology products like televisions, appliances, and even daily life consumptions. That is why MI is my personal favorite Chinese technology company.

So back to MI MIX. Last year, everyone was shocked by the large screen when Apple released its tenth-anniversary phone — iPhone X. But the world first smartphone that has more than 90% screen-to-body ratio (common known how big the screen is compared to the whole body of the phone) is MI MIX, one year before iPhone X, and it is designed by French famous designer Philippe Starck.

Like I said before, MI uses the best hardware and sells its phones at the lowest price. MI MIX has a screen of the size 6.4’’, which is just 0.1’’ smaller than the screen size of iPhone XS Max (The biggest and the most expensive iPhone ever) that was released last month. The MI MIX Exclusive Edition has the best chipset at that time — Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 821 — 6GB RAM, 256GB storage. These are advanced technologies on cell phones even for now. And the whole body of this phone is made of CERAMIC!!! This phone can even use the vibration of the whole ceramic body to make sounds, so they eliminate the speaker in the front to save more room for the screen. And the price of that at that time in dollars is just approximately $576.
